Meghan M. Hanson

Meghan is originally from Nova Scotia, where she attended St. Francis Xavier University, obtaining a Bachelor of Arts with Honours in Political Science and then Dalhousie University where she completed her Bachelor of Laws in 2006. Meghan was called to the Nova Scotia Bar in 2007 and the Alberta Bar in 2008.

Meghan understands how stressful and confusing the breakdown of a relationship can be. You will no doubt have countless questions about how best to move forward. Meghan will provide you with practical, straight-forward advice, tailored to your unique situation, allowing you to make a decision that best meets your needs and the needs of your family.

Meghan has a particular focus on matters involving children, from representing parents in parenting disputes, to representing non-parents (such as grandparents, foster parents or other caregivers) on guardianship matters, to representing children both in private parenting matters and in situations where there is Child Welfare involvement.

In addition to providing advice and guidance when a relationship breaks down, Meghan also provides assistance to people looking to build their families. Whether this means the addition of a child through adoption, surrogacy or artificial reproduction, or whether you are entering a new relationship, Meghan has the knowledge and experience to help you navigate the process.

Meghan has been a volunteer with local 4H groups for a number of years, serving as both a project leader and public speaking judge. In her free time, Meghan can usually be found with a cup of tea and a book or her latest craft project.
